Mexico: swine flu vaccines still needs some time

National Autonomous University of Mexico, 29, said experts, is expected in 4 to 6 months in developed effective prevention of swine influenza virus type A/H1N1 vaccine for clinical application, but need more.

 Mexico’s National Autonomous University of Health and an emergency response to the Commission’s experts pointed out that currently the agency have a grasp of swine influenza virus type A/H1N1 chromosome sequence, which makes development of vaccines against the effects of the virus possible.

 Experts say Mexico’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention website has published chromosome sequence information of the virus. World Organization for Animal Health has confirmed that, A/H1N1 type swine influenza virus concentration of swine influenza virus, human influenza viruses and the characteristics of the avian influenza virus, is a new hybrid influenza virus.

 Mexico’s medicine and infectious disease experts pointed out that although both belong to H1N1 influenza virus, but this time found a new outbreak of the virus with the 1918 “Spanish flu” virus are very different.

 Experts say, through experimental analysis, microbiology and infectious disease experts have been able to identify the virus, but failed to grasp the initial rapid diagnostic method, it is suggested people in the show flu-like symptoms should seek medical care immediately confirmed.

 The expert also said that the current seasonal influenza vaccine still can not prove whether the effective prevention and control of swine influenza, there is no evidence that the current anti-influenza virus-like drugs for treatment of swine influenza really works. The Mexican government health departments and experts recommend people not to follow blindly, preferably under the guidance of professional doctors to prevent medication.
