Pregnancy is susceptible to H1N1 influenza?

     If you are pregnant, and the emergence of influenza-like symptoms, or the suspect was suffering from influenza A H1N1 influenza, should immediately go to the hospital confirmed.

     Although the H1N1 flu virus, the specific effects on pregnancy is still unknown, but anyone may be the peak season of influenza infection in high-risk, highly pathogenic influenza A H1N1 influenza virus, including pregnant women.

     Pregnant women in the pregnancy process, to the heart and lungs have to bear the additional pressure, but pregnancy can also affect the pregnant woman’s immune system and reduce immunity. These factors increase, not only susceptible to influenza A H1N1 influenza, and once infected with the disease tends to increase, serious complications such as pneumonia and respiratory distress. Conversely, complications from influenza may lead to miscarriage, premature birth, deformities or other problems during pregnancy.

     Influenza A H1N1 influenza-like symptoms and the symptoms are similar to seasonal flu, including fever, cough, sore throat and body pain.

     Although researchers have not yet studied for use during pregnancy, oseltamivir and zanamivir treatment and prevention of influenza A H1N1 influenza and its complications outweigh the potential risks of drugs. However, doctors in general would recommend the use of antiviral drugs known to fight influenza H1N1 virus, the ideal case of onset of symptoms should be started within 48 hours of treatment. Known drugs can effectively suppress the virus is oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir.

     Flu-like symptoms occur after the use of drugs at the same time, it is important to get more rest and drink plenty of liquids.
