Consumption of pork will not be infected with swine influenza

2, 4 and authoritative international organizations, issued a joint statement, stressed that food hygiene and safety standards in line with pork and pork products are not infected with influenza A H1N1 influenza.

 This report by the United Nations, FAO, WHO, the World Organization for Animal Health and the World Trade Organization said in a statement jointly issued, due to the spread of influenza A H1N1 influenza epidemic, many people worry that pigs may carry the virus, concerns the consumption of pork products will be unsafe, do this, “we emphasize that in line with health and safety standards of pork and pork products will not be a source of virus infection.”

 The statement also said that so far no evidence that influenza A H1N1 virus can be spread through food, so some countries have taken to restrict imports of pork or pork products, trade measures, the World Organization for Animal Health can not be the “Terrestrial Animal Health Code” in to find the proper basis.

 However, the statement stresses the veterinary sector and the health sector, the importance of cooperation to jointly monitor the pigs that may arise may be related to any non-normal incidence of influenza A H1N1 virus-related symptoms.
